It was nice to see so many of you on Parent Orientation Night. Thank you for filling up the 2BR sign up sheets for volunteer opportunities and contributions to the classroom. If you were unable to attend, and would like to participate in classroom activities, please let me know.
Highlights Magazine Order Forms were passed out on Orientation Night. You do not need to place an order, however, if you check the "no" box and sign the form (no address needed), I will still receive free stickers, etc. for the classroom. If you do want to order, check the "yes" box and fill out the information required. Either way, please send in your forms on Monday. :)
Reading:
Your child is reading Henry and Mudge Under the Yellow Moon by Cynthia Rylant. In this story, a boy and his dog go for long walks through the woods in the fall. Although each has his own way of doing things, they both love spending time together. Please encourage your child to read Henry and Mudge Under the Yellow Moon over the weekend. Vocabulary Power precedes the story.

We have been practicing correct pencil grip (tripod grip) over the past few weeks. Although children have formed many different habits in the past, using the tripod grip will be beneficial to students, especially when we begin cursive handwriting.
