Summer Practice - Blog Sites

Otter Creek Math Fact Practice: Math / Mastering Math Fact Practice
  • Students entering 3rd Grade Math should continue practicing addition and subtraction math facts. Students will continue with subtraction at the beginning of 3rd grade.
  • Students entering 3rd Grade Accelerated Math should continue practicing addition, subtraction and multiplication facts. Students should have mastery of addition, subtraction and multiplication.
Writing Journals:

This year we ended up writing in our spiral notebooks. The lines in the "official" journals were too wide for the students to do their best writing. The mostly empty journals will be sent home for summer use. Ideas you may want to use are: Diary of a summer vacation, handwriting practice, poetry, and more. Enjoy your summer writing.

Year End Read-In Day
Please bring a sturdy bag with the following items to school with you:
  • Several (5-7) of your favorite books to read.
  • A flashlight or book light for “lights out” reading.
  • A small pillow and/or beach towel to make yourself a cozy reading spot.
  • A stuffed animal (1 foot long or smaller. Please don’t bring your very favorite one...temporarily misplaced pals can cause sleepless nights.)
  • An extra, healthy snack.
