Writing:
We are continuing our poetry unit this week. We will type and print our Acrostic poems. We will begin to examine Definition poems this week and by the end of the week, we will begin to write some of our own.
Reading:
We finished up the story Chinatown on Friday and will be starting the story Beginner's World Atlas this week. This is a non fiction story that teaches children about maps and physical geography. Then it shares information about North America - the people and the land. The skill of the week is locating information.
Math:
We are continuing to work on Unit 10. This week we will be reviewing place value to 1,000 and learning about place value to
10, 000.
Social Studies:
We will be finishing our Geography-Map Skills Unit this week. We will create our own maps that show landforms, talk about natural resources, and discuss conservation.
Volunteer Tea:
Our volunteer tea is fast approaching. The date is Thursday, April 28th. Invitations will come home soon. Please consider attending and allow us to thank you for the ways in which you have supported us and our students this year.
Schedule:
Just a reminder that there will not be any school for students on Friday, April 22 and Monday, April 25. Friday is a holiday and Monday is a School Improvement Day.
